This 9-inch Green Tara statue is crafted in copper, partly gilded with 24k gold and finished in a two-toned antique style, blending deep black with warm brownish tones. The interplay of the soft gold and darker shades gives the figure a dignified presence and allows the fine details to stand out clearly.

Green Tara, swift in compassionate action, is depicted in her familiar posture — right leg extended, ever ready to arise and help, and left leg folded in contemplation. Her right hand is extended in the gesture of generosity, while her left hand holds the stem of a lotus that blooms beside her shoulder.

The antique finish tempers the brightness of the gold, creating a gentle matte effect that is easy on the eyes, while preserving the richness of the gilding. The engravings are precise and fluid, with the robe’s folds, ornaments, and lotuses rendered in fine depth. The face has been beautifully worked and painted with 24k gold, with eyes and lips applied in smooth, flawless precision, giving her a gaze that is both kind and watchful.

For Dharma practitioners, this statue serves as an encouragement to embody active compassion in everyday life. Whether placed on a shrine for daily prayers, used as a focal point for Tara practice, or kept nearby as a reminder of her swiftness in dispelling obstacles, it follows the authentic proportions and iconography of the Newar Buddhist artistic tradition of Patan, Nepal.
